Your Questions Answered on Search Engine Optimisation
I’ve Got a New Website – Why Do I Need Search Engine Optimisation?
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) isn’t always about getting your website to the highest possible position on the major search engines – but making sure it is prominent and engaging (even if it appears at number seven in the results). Currently, studies indicate that 80% of online transactions start with a search on the search engine, so a strong position in a search engine is often vital to the success of an online business.
Whatever the objectives of your website – whether it is for attracting sales, enquiries or anything else – if you are not on the first or second page of search results for your main keywords, then customers are going to struggle to find you!
Why Should I Choose You for SEO?
We believe our track record speaks for itself. We have a proven history of getting clients to the top of the organic search rankings on Google and other search engines for highly competitive keywords (see our Client Portfolio page for examples of our past successes).
Our SEO account managers are highly experienced and have worked on projects in a number of sectors, including luxury retail, pet health, tourism, and personal finance. We also love a new challenge!
Should I Build My Online Strategy Around SEO or Pay Per Click?
Pay Per Click (PPC) is great if you want your website to appear prominently in search results immediately, as it can be set up quickly and you can have your site appearing on page one of Google the same day. However, in the long term it can be expensive, as your listing lasts only as long as you are willing to keep paying for it.
Taking the long view, using SEO to get your website in the organic listings usually works out to be more worthwhile than using PPC. As well as working out cheaper over time, getting a good organic ranking also increases your target market, as only around 30% of search users ever click on a paid listing.
What Kind of SEO Techniques Do You Use?
Our techniques are entirely “White Hat”, meaning that we use squeaky clean, above-board techniques that achieve results without the risk of having your website penalised for spamming the search engines.
Since the Penguin Update in April 2012, Google has become particularly vigilant in punishing websites that use so-called “Black Hat” techniques – quick fixes that trick search engines into giving good rankings to websites that don’t necessarily deserve them.
We take the harder but more ethical road, employing a range of content-driven approaches, video and online PR to build a strong and varied profile of inbound links and position a site as an authority for its target keywords.
Our approach is for website owners who want to make a long term investment in their site, and we’re proud of the fact that many of our SEO clients have been working with us for several years.
Can you Get Me to Number One Position on Google?
This is always a tough question! Unfortunately, there are no guarantees when it comes to search engine listings and we would be the first to discourage you from using anyone who tells you otherwise.
What we can do, however, is maximise your chances of achieving a top ranking using the techniques mentioned above. We’re also pretty experienced in the SEO field, so we can probably give you a fairly good indication of what can and can’t be achieved right off the bat.
Then again, sometimes we even surprise ourselves, and could point you to examples where we have exceeded our expectations and achieved high positions for hugely competitive keywords, outranking much bigger competitors!
Will I Be Able to Monitor the Progress of the Campaign?
Absolutely! We ensure our clients are constantly kept in the loop on any SEO project. Each client gets a monthly Google Analytics report, which will show how their website has performed over the last 30 days and which keywords are driving the most traffic to the site.Call or Email now to discuss your project
