We are seeking a Web Developer to join our busy team located in Dorchester, Dorset. You will be an ambitious PHP Web Developer seeking to join a company that aims to push the boundaries of technology and creativity.
You may be a recent graduate or already have experience of working within the creative industry. Being part of a small team creating websites, screen applications and e-marketing, you will be given opportunities to learn and progress. Why not turn your skills into a passion and a career!
Key responsibilities and duties
- Develop websites to W3C standards using XHTML, PHP & MYSQL
- Develop e-Newsletters
- Modifying client websites
- Implementing Search Engine Optimisation within client websites
- Maintaining Content Management Systems
- Liaise with clients and create content for our client websites
Person specification
Key skills:
The successful Web Developer will be qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline or have a proven track record of web knowledge and a range of technologies.
You should:-
- Be proficient in hand coding PHP, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and have an understanding of security techniques.
- Have proficiency with cross-browser, cross-platform issues, and dedicated to Web standards.
- You must possess good client care skills, be well organised, show initiative, work to strict deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
Experience:
- Have excellent problem solving skills and enjoy a good challenge.
- Be highly motivated and proactive, and relish the challenging of working for a dynamic, growing company.
- Have some previous commercial programming experience.
- Have experience of taking Photoshop PSD files and converting to working XHTML documents.
- Have experience of working with CMS, e-commerce and blogging platforms – particularly WordPress.
- Have experience of frameworks, particularly with JavaScript
* When applying you should supply examples of recent project work along with some pages of PHP/MySQL code from previous projects.
